Why does diagnos ask for phone, identity, or a signature?
Your account has a security level from 1 to 7 — each step proves a bit more about who you are, and unlocks a bit more of what the account can do. Level 3 (your security password) is what actually protects patient data; levels 5–7 aren't available to complete in the app yet.

Your diagnos account has a security level from 1 to 7. Each level proves a bit more about who you are, and the level itself — not your job title — is what decides whether some actions are available to you. You can see your current level in Settings → Security level.
The levels build on each other in order: you can't reach level 4 without having completed 1 through 3 first. As of this writing, only levels 1–4 can actually be completed in the app — levels 5, 6, and 7 are part of the model but the verification flows behind them aren't available yet, so no one can reach them today no matter their role.
The 7 levels#
- Email verified — confirms you have access to the inbox on file. It's the baseline: the account behind an unconfirmed email could belong to anyone.
- Security device (passkey) — Face ID, Windows Hello, or a physical key linked to your account. A second, phishing-resistant way to prove it's you, on top of a password. See Security devices. Not available to complete from the app yet.
- Security password — the credential that protects decryption of your workspace data. This is the level that matters most: without it, nothing in the vault is readable, by you or by anyone else. See How do I unlock a workspace.
- Phone verified — a second channel for account recovery and critical alerts, in case you lose access to your email. Not available to complete from the app yet.
- Identity verification — confirms the person behind the account is who they say they are: workspace admins go through third-party identity verification, specialists submit proof of their professional credential. Not available to complete from the app yet.
- Specialist credential signature — specialist accounts only. A formal attestation of the professional credential that backs an electronic signature on a report. Not available to complete from the app yet.
- Admin responsibility term signature — workspace admins only, and the last step: signing this is what activates a workspace for real. Not available to complete from the app yet.
How far you can go#
The ceiling depends on what kind of account you have, not on effort:
- Member: up to level 4.
- Specialist: up to level 6.
- Admin: up to level 7.
A member's account isn't "less secure" for stopping at 4 — levels 5 to 7 exist for the accountability that comes with signing reports as a specialist or administering a workspace, not for everyday use.
